"Why fit in when you were born to stand out."As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are often told to be part of the world, but not of the world. We are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father and potential gods and goddesses. We are destined for greatness and need to let our light shine. That can not happen if we try to hide that light in order to become like everyone else.
Marianne Williamson said:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us."As I figure out what to do with my life, I have an opportunity to really discover myself and become who I was meant to be. I'm going to work on not caring what people think as long as I'm happy with myself. After all, why fit in when I was born to stand out?
